Toxic chemicals, they wreak havoc on our sinuses, skin, lungs, liver and they are everywhere! Unfortunately, some of the biggest chemical culprits are right under our noses in our household cleaning supplies. Have you considered trying to eliminate unnecessary chemicals from your daily regime? There are many ways you use essential oils and common every day products to make your own cleaning supplies that are non-toxic and more cost effective! Here are just a few of my own tried and true recipes that are effective and smell wonderful, too.
~Cleaning Oil for Dusting Wood Surfaces~
2 tablespoons of lemon or lemongrass essential oil
Jojoba oil
Put 2 tablespoons of selected essential oil into an 8 oz bottle and then fill the bottle to the curve with Jojoba oil. Shake well.
~Cleaning Solution for Floors~
1 tablespoon of eucalyptus essential oil
2 tablespoons of lemon essential oil
¼ cup of alcohol
1 gallon of water
Put selected essential oils, then alcohol into a bucket. Then add the gallon of water. Mix well.
~Disinfectant Cleaning Solution~
20 drops of rosemary essential oil
20 drops of tea tree essential oil
30 drops of lemon essential oil
¼ cup of alcohol
1 gallon of water
Add selected essential oils to one gallon of water. Shake well.
~Spray for Mold~
60 drops of tea tree essential oil
60 drops of white thyme essential oil
1 tablespoon of alcohol
1 quart of distilled water
Add items to a spray bottle. Shake well.
